Hostel Description
SOUTHERN CROSS HOSTEL is all about creating a base camp where people can live comfortably, meet each other and explore the city efficiently. Relax at the roof-bar and common room and enjoy ice cold beer, cocktails, turkish waterpipe and good company. Situated in Sultanahmet, in the centre of historic Istanbul on Akbiyik Street; known as backpacker alley there is no shortage of bars, cafes, restaurants and not to mention other world travelers! Within a few minutes walk of all major tourist attractions like Topkapi Palace, the Blue Mosque and Hagia Sophia) and near bus, tram and train links.
ACCOMMODATION - We are a smaller hostel!!
Pay the same price for a 4 person dorm as the bigger guys charge for a 30 bed dorm room and sleep comfortably! Just make your reservation quick! Smaller means every guest gets our full attention. We are known for creating a sense of community among guests and many enjoy chilling at the roof top bar/common room after a long day on the city. For those wanting a little extra privacy we have 2 large double rooms that share a separate bathroom on their own floor! Not to mention 24hr hot water!
OUR STAFF can help you get information on travel details, getting aound the city, unique places to explore and shop in the city, best places to eat, the best clubs and bars ... and ones to stay away from. Weekends let us organize transportation to Taksim, Beyoğlu and other night club hotspots!
TRANSPORT - The hostel is well linked to public transportation. We are just 2 minutes walk from Sultan Ahmet tram station. from there anywhere in Istanbul.
